Optimal Energy Harvesting From a Multistrings PV Generator Based on Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm

Photovoltaic (PV) systems based on multistring configuration are the best effective solution, given its advantages in terms of system availability, reliability, and energy efficiency. In this particular each substring has own dc-dc converter a dedicated maximum power search algorithm which increase cost complexity. article, an efficient centralized global tracking (GMPPT) for PV array subject to partial shading conditions is proposed. The artificial bee colony (ABC) as optimization approach provide optimal duty cycles allowing extraction from substring. particular, proposed allows significant reduction required sensors only one pair current voltage sensors, at common point connection overall strings. simulation study been carried out under Cadence/Pspice MATLAB/Simulink platforms I-V curves confirm effectiveness when several patterns occur. addition, complex pattern daily profile also demonstrate GMPPT finding dynamically variable conditions. Performance comparison against particle swarm traditional perturb observe method out. obtained experimental results have shown good capability ABC uniform nonuniform irradiance.
